The only reason I comment on this story about a correlation between horizontal eye exercises and increased creativity … is that I wonder if I have inadvertently gotten a hand up from the effect. About a year ago, I got a second monitor to extend the desktop on my computer at work. I am frequently glancing back & forth from monitor 1 to monitor 2 – left to right to left. It’s very handy. Especially if I want to cheat a little and blog during my free microseconds. And no doubt I strongly favor my right hand. Now. Everything after this sentence doesn’t count because of the possibility of post hoc confirmation bias (which we should all pay more attention to when drawing conclusions – especially from personal experience or anecdotal evidence! I actually have felt more productive overall, and maybe a touch more creative since this time. In fact, I feel happier lately. Weird, huh? Maybe I should thank the boss for this great perq!
